Team Building Exercise Examples

All of the tools we use help us to look at the current state of the team and the individual members. From this, we explore how to help the team move toward being more productive and effective individually and together. Sometimes this means workshops to develop the team together, sometimes this means coaching and mentoring of individuals, and sometimes we look at ways of enhancing the leadership style within the team. The goal is always to determine the strengths of the team, potential weaknesses, and how to help maximize the performance of the group.

Some of the tools we’ve found to be helpful include the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. This is one of the most highly regarded instruments used to identify personality preferences. Participants find it to be both personally and professionally beneficial.

Coggs Ladder helps us to recognize the cohesiveness of a team. And from this we are able to discover how to help them move up a ‘notch on the ladder’ toward greater team performance.

The Conflict Management Survey is a diagnosis instrument determining behavioral patterns in conflict situations. Since conflict can be a common part of working together, participants find understanding their style helpful in working through difficult situations with teammates.

360 Degree Leadership Feedback - utilizing a safe form of feedback offers leaders a wonderful way to see their leadership style through the eyes of their employees. This offers an opportunity to alter leadership style to better meet the needs of individual employees.
